world headquarters for HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living and Great American Country (GAC), has an immediate opening for a Senior Web Analyst in our Knoxville, Tennessee office.
Job Description
Position is within the Scripps Networks Analytics team focused on the continual optimization of existing Scripps Networks websites. The analyst will be responsible for identifying pages or sections that could benefit from optimization, developing hypotheses on how performance of these areas might be improved, and measuring new design and navigation elements to determine which contribute best towards increased performance and meeting overall site goals. The analyst will work closely with the team’s UI designer and site managers and may be required to reevaluate several iterations before desired outcomes are achieved.
Position Requirements
Develop a set of frameworks for judging which sites, sections or pages are under-performing and could benefit from design improvements.
Propose and implement ROI models for projects and prioritize based on those models along with resource availability.
Plan for successful tracking and reporting of all proposed testing
Gather business requirements from a variety key stakeholders
Work closely with team members to better understand the user, test the usability of features and conceptual designs, and report back on progress of design changes
Pro-actively make suggestions that increase the overall success of applications and sites to meet the needs of both users and business objectives
Present key takeaways in both large group settings as well as through email.
Education
Degree in Computer Science, Marketing, or other related discipline OR equivalent experience.
Experience
Required:
At least 3 years of industry experience in web analytics
Experience analyzing site navigation and page performance metrics
Experience with A/B and Multivariate testing platforms and procedures along with testing methodologies
Preferred:
Knowledge of web standards (HTML, XHTML, CSS) and JavaScript
Knowledge of Adobe Flash, AJAX, or other rich media web standards
Previous work with personas, profiles, and usage scenarios based on business requirements.
Experience at a media website or interactive advertising agency
Equipment
Personal computer, with research applications and Microsoft Office.
Skills/Abilities
Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Must possess the ability to use a web analytics tool like WebTrends, Omniture, and Coremetrics
