Amp’d Adds Advertising: It will begin selling ad spots within its video content offerings, and has partnered with advertising vendor Rhythm NewMedia for the service. Procter & Gamble will be the first to advertise in the space. The company will promote its Herbal Essences products through the carrier’s Overdose VOD and Amp’d TV offerings.
New Latino Channel On Verizon VCast: Verizon Wireless has tied up with Hispanic-focused mobile content firm Viva! Vision to add Viva! Vision TV, a Latino youth channel, to its V CAST service.
— Universal Studios and I-play to deliver Movie Clips to Mobile: I-play and Universal have created the Mobile Moments channel, where audiences can view the best clips from Universal Studios’ most popular blockbuster movies. The first video clips to hit handsets include The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Animal House, The Breakfast Club, E.T., Jurassic Park, and Sixteen Candles, all launching in North America later this year.
InfoSpace and Activision partner for mobile games: We reported on this in INSP’s earlier conference call…Activision has inked a deal with InfoSpace allowing the mobile firm to develop titles based on its Tony Hawk and Gun franchises. Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam, Tony Hawk’s Project 8, Gun and a selection of retro titles are all set to appear soon on mobile handsets.
SkyZone releases Extreme Hangman: SkyZone Entertainment is to release a version of the classic time-wasting puzzler Hangman, for mobile phones. Extreme Hangman will feature multiplayer modes with players able to play via mobile handsets and PC, with the purchase of the mobile version unlocking PC features.
