Industry Move: Blue Frog Mobile Names New CEO; No M&A For Now

I met Ron at least 3-4 times during CTIA and he never dropped a hint (well, I never asked): Blue Frog Mobile, the mobile content aggregator based out of Seattle, has named a new CEO, and the founder Ron Erickson is now the executive chairman. The company, which raised $16 million in venture money last fall, has named Al Ramirez as its new CEO. He is a former Ameritech executive who worked in various roles at the telephone company from 1985 to 2001. Most recently, he was a consultant to startup companies and VC firms.
Erickson, who co-founded the company in 2004, will continue to handle strategic partnerships and the long-term vision of the company.
In July, Blue Frog added Lonnie Rosenwald, the former VP of corporate development at Cingular Wireless, as senior VP and general counsel. It also added David Antisdale as senior VP of business development and broadcast.
Despite the M&A activity, Erickson said Blue Frog is not entertaining acquisition offers at this time.
