Portals Adspend Growth Slows Down In Print

Exchange4media.com: Internet portals spent a lot of money on advertising on TV. They in fact doubled their ad spend on TV. But the internet companies have been going slow in print. It rose just 9 per cent in Jan-Jun ’06 over Jan-Jun ’05, according to a study by AdexIndia. What is notable here is that the print advertising by portals had grown by some 75 per cent in the first half of 2005 over the previous year. So the print growth is getting stunted if the growth has stayed sub-10 per cent.
Some highlights
–Among print, magazines got just 9 per cent share in overall Internet Portal advertising in H1 of 2006.
