Industry Moves: Pirate Golin To Editor, People.com; New Brand Editor At Prevention

People revs up its online efforts with the appointment of Marc Golin, editor of Time Warner’s short-lived OfficePirates.com, as editor of People.com. In the new post, Golin will be responsible for “all online editorial operations and site development,” according to a memo from Martha Nelson, People Group editor, obtained by Mediaweek. Golin’s resume is stuffed with experience online (Moviefone.com, VP/creative director AOL) and in magazines (Rodale, Hearst, Maxim, Details) so it should be a good fit. (via Romenesko)
Rodale: In light of the uptick in digital activity on the posts on magazines and the digital age, interesting to note that Prevention has appointed Leah McLaughlin to the new post of brand editor. In that role, McLaughlin will be involved in developing and managing Prevention’s relationships across all media — print, online, DVD, broadcast. (Mobile wasn’t mentioned but it should be part of the mix.) Prior, McLaughlin was executive editor of Natural Heath magazine; she starts Sept. 18 and will be based in NYC.
