Telecom Italia is gearing up to launch its mobile TV service, signing a contract with manufacturer Thomson. “The product, run by Grass Valley, a subsidiary of Thomson, was successfully tested at the Winter Olympics early in 2006…”What is happening in Italy with mobile phones is different but we expect it to follow in the rest of Europe,” said Jacques Dunogue, co-chief executive of division systems, told journalists.”
Telecom Italia is reportedly in talks with News Corp to acquire viewing rights to Fox as well as the groups overall film library and football rights…that’s said to be for the telco’s broadband subscribers but it would be silly not to include mobile customers in that.
