The Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai is making things easier for devotees. Their website allows darshan via live webcast, created by Cybervox Network Limited and powered by Tata Indicom. The website also allows online booking of pujas, and delivers prasad both in and outside India. For donations, there are several options: Union Bank of India, IndusInd Bank, BillDesk, ICICI Bank NRI Services, Remit2India, Itz Cash, Wallet 365, as well as tie-ups for donations via the branches of some banks. Itz also allows donations and prasad via SMS.
The website also accepts advertisements, and has been developed by Puratech.
According to this DNA report, Siddhivinayak Temple CEO Hanumant Jagtap said that the online darshan facility gets around 4 million hits a month. Airtel has tied up with the Siddhivinayak temple for SMS alerts of prayers. Other operators like Hutch, BPL and Reliance offered alerts for prayers and aartis, as well as downloads of Lord Ganesha wallpapers, ring tones and logos.
