The first U.S. 2008 presidential election mobile service has been announced…expect a lot more activity on mobile for ’08: Associated Press has plans to offer election coverage to mobile phones with a service dubbed AP Mobile Election Results. The service will have a “My Races” section and features will include:
— National and Governor Election Races Summary Results: State-by-state results for Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House races and ballot initiatives of national interest will be available for viewing and “bookmarking”
— National Trends: National summary trends for Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House will be available for display
— Political News Stories: The latest political news stories and headlines will be available
The service is being supported by Crisp Wireless.
JupiterResearch analyst Julie Ask is quoted as comparing the service to “the 1920 election results of Warren Harding’s victory as U.S. president mark(ing) a major milestone for the radio broadcast industry”.
