Talent Hunt On Internet: Zee Ties Up With Sify

Talent hunts and auditions are moving to the internet. Zee has launched on-ground auditions on broadband portal Sifymax for its ‘Cinestars’ talent hunt show. The auditions will be held in 154 cities across India. The venue will be Sify’s 3400 plus iWay cyber cafes. The details are here. Sify Ltd had pioneered this when it tied up with Vijay TV for auditioning of Hutch Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru, the Tamil version of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.
Now others are also joining in. A few days ago, Balaji Telefilms started a heroine hunt on a non-descript website Baajaa.com. What about those talent who don’t use internet? Mobile will be a good idea.

Nikhil adds: Talent shows are a rage in India, and auditions have often been chaotic affairs. This distribution of auditioning allows Zee to focus on other things related to the show. Either way Sify wins. They get thousands if not millions of hits on its sites as well as getting more foot traffic to iWay’s.
