Sprint Reworks Music Offering With Sprint Radio And Promotions

Sprint is launching Sprint Radio, which “features more than 50 channels of streaming radio and video with programming that offers today’s hottest music and music videos as well as news, weather, sports, finance and entertainment from popular sources such as NPR, ESPN and Radio Disney”.
The service costs $5.95 per month and is offered via a partnership with mSpot, and here’s where the word “launch” becomes a bit dodgy. mSpot launched a radio service on Sprint in April 2005…for $5.95 per month. mSpot later offered a Sports Radio service on Sprint, and the new Sprint Radio is both those services combined. To me it seems more like a rebranding exercise than a launch, with mSpot going white label.
Sprint has also announced a 3-for-2 promotion for its music store, as well as some new features such as personalized recommendations and a handset with external control buttons.
