Some Recent Mobile Content Deal Announcements

China Unicom is improving its music service via a deal with Global Music International. The main intention seems to be to offer “western music” to the customers, although it’s also intended to create “new channels of distribution for IMNTV which allows localized and personalized service for Chinese consumers”.
A new Christian mobile content service has launched, targeting 18-24 year olds. Unity in Values will offer mobile video, audio and data content and application.
Telefonica has launched a new mobile music service in Spain, with dedicated artist sites. “Customers who buy music via Todo X Artista will not only enjoy full length music tracks delivered to their handset, but will have one-click access to all content from the artist of their choice, be it full tracks, ringtones, ringbacktones (also known as Yavoys), videotones, videoclips, or wallpaper, on a dedicated artist site.” It’s powered by Musiwave.
Yelp.com has gone mobile, offering its user-generated reviews to mobile devices. This means that users of the service can check any reviews (say, for a restaurant) when they’re out-and-about rather than planning ahead.
