Participants at the Australian Interactive Media Industry summit concluded that attempting to filter out certain content from the web in general from getting to mobile phones was going to be a ‘headache’…and I think it’s probably going to be ineffectual also.
“Once devices can download content from anywhere online, a parental control layer must be added to the phone that can sift out inappropriate content, said Jason Nealon, head of fixed mobile portals at Optus. “That is the biggest underlying problem and it is a big issue.”…He said Optus had recently been looking into security products and discovered that no parental control software had yet been developed for the mobile platform, revealing a substantial hole in the market.”This is something that will become a mandatory part of the business,” he said.”
If you do have parental control software you’re hawking you know who to call…
