Moody’s Investors Service: Senior Product Strategist – New York City

The Senior Product Strategist (SPS) for Content Licensing and Data Feed Products will oversee Moody’s global business in licensing Moody’s ratings, research and analytic content for use inside customer organizations. This is a fast-growing multi-million dollar business for the Investor Services Group (ISG) at Moody’s Investors Service, providing high-value content in computer-readable form to the world’s leading investment managers, banks, brokers and information businesses.
Responsibilities:
Product Oversight
The SPS will oversee a portfolio of products and services that allow customers to license Moody’s intellectual property (ratings, research, and related content) for their internal use. The SPS will be the business owner of all the products in this space, including the cornerstone product, the Ratings Delivery Service (RDS). As primary business owner for these products, the SPS will define appropriate service level objectives, oversee the pipeline of systems-development tasks to support and enhance the products, and advocate on behalf of the portfolio for appropriate investment and coordination with other Moody’s initiatives.
Client Service
The SPS will work closely with Moody’s Client Service providers around the world, defining the requirements for excellence in customer satisfaction. As this sector grows and attracts new entrants, becoming more competitive, Moody’s will need to solidify and standardize appropriate procedures and training for associates servicing this client base. The SPS will set standards and lead organizational change in this area.
Because these products draw upon work performed throughout Moody’s Investors Service, change elsewhere within Moody’s can directly impact customer satisfaction. The SPS will work with those groups most likely to contribute to improvement in this area, advocating for client interests while stewarding Moody’s business objectives. As the executive most responsible for oversight of this highly visible product portfolio, the SPS will work with worldwide relationship management teams to represent Moody’s and the product set in strategic customer relationships.
New Product Development
The highest-grossing products in the SPS portfolio use mature technology that has evolved only incrementally over the 12 years since the product family was first introduced. The SPS will lead Moody’s efforts to identify and incorporation next-generation technology for delivering this content, and collaborate with global Product Strategy to identify new and innovative content that would benefit from licensed delivery.
The SPS will also lead new product collaborations with select Moody’s business partners that provide value-added functions and content beyond Moody’s own capability.
