Industry Moves: New EVP/CFO For Dow Jones; Yahoo UK MD Leaving For Accel

Couple of industry moves of note:
— William B. Plummer is joining Dow Jones as EVP and CFO effective Sept. 5; he is leaving Alcoa, where he was VP/treasurer. In addition to the usual finance responsibilities, Plummer will be responsible for IR, real estate, facilities, purchasing — and he will oversee strategic planning. That last is described as “a key role in developing and executing existing and new strategic plans and initiatives to help Dow Jones succeed in this rapidly evolving digital-publishing age.”
Plummer is on the board of directors of John Wiley & Sons, Inc.; he chairs the audit committee and is on the executive committee. His resume includes executive stints at Mead Corp. and GE. Release.
Simon Levene, Yahoo UK’s managing director of corporate development, is leaving the company and joining Accel Partners this October, also in UK. At Yahoo, he oversaw corporate strategy development and transaction activities worldwide. Prior to Yahoo, Levene was VP of business affairs at AOL Time Warner, where he led joint ventures, investments and M&A activities internationally.
