Wall Street Journal & MarketWatch To Syndicate Stories To HT’s New Biz Paper and Website

Updated: This is interesting: Sobhana Bhartia, editorial director of Hindustan Times, told a TV channel that details regarding content sharing are still being worked out. There is also a possibility that the new newspaper would carry the The WSJ masthead but no decision has been taken, she added.
Main news: The Wall Street Journal has done a deal with Hindustan Times Media Group, under which HT’s soon-to-be-launched business newspaper and its website will publish WSJ branded pages that will contain business news and information from the paper, WSJ.com, and Marketwatch.com. This is an exclusive deal, though the length has not been disclosed.
Of course, it helps that HT biz paper’s new editor Raju Narisetti was formerly the editor of Wall Street Journal Europe. HT Media is still working on its plans for the business paper with the main editorial and management team in place, it says, and and “currently is evaluating market gaps and opportunities”, whatever that means.
