A week after announcing its online ad-supported show streaming plans starting this fall, CBS has announced some more deals, these ones significant because they involved third-party production houses outside of CBS umbrella.
It has struck a deal with 20th Century Fox TV and Warner Bros. to stream episodes of shows including “The Unit” and “The Class” online, as part of a four-week promotion starting next month. The shows include 20th Century Fox Television’s “How I Met Your Mother,” “Shark” and “The Unit” and Warner Bros.’ “The Class,” “Old Christine” and “Smith.”
These will be shown on CBS.com’s broadband service Innertube.
TVWeek: The agreement does not include any deal for episodes being sold electronically. Both studios stressed the for–free availability as a marketing and promotional move only.
