Toshiba’s Dynabook SS S30 sub-notebook: 9 hours of run-time!

Ss_s30At only 1.2 kg, or around 2.6 pounds, Toshiba’s newest Windows XP Pro Dynabook looks pretty svelte! Best of all, Toshiba claims a whopping 9 hours of battery life on the standard battery! Even if the claim is over-hyped by 25%, that’s still a fantastic amount of run-time, and the extended battery provides 13.5 hours. If you want to test your translation skills like I did, here’s the Japanese product page over at Toshiba. Additional specs round the S30 out as a solid performer:

  • Intel Core Solo U1300 running at 1.06 GHz
  • 30 GB hard drive (upgradable to a 60 GB option)
  • 512 MB of RAM, expandable up to 4 GB
  • 12.1-inch WGA screen that looks to be widescreen
  • Integrated fingerprint sensor
  • Vista capable
  • Internal 802.11 a/b/g
  • Microsoft OneNote included

Looks to be a suggested price of 264,600 Japanese Yen, which is roughly $2,275, so you’ll be paying (as always) for that portability and battery life. Any importers have these? I’d love to see one…
