Seven’s push e-mail for the Java masses

SevenlogoDirect push e-mail sent to your phone as it arrives at the digital post office isn’t just in the domain of Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Symbian and other higher-end platforms. Seven Networks trumps its six predecessors (kidding) by dropping wireless push e-mail to three Java phones; two Sony Ericsson Walkman units and the K510 under the brand. The service falls under Seven’s current "Always On" offering and works with mail from AOL, Earthlink, Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo!

This could be the start of smartphones losing an advantage to not-so-smart phones as push e-mail could jump to the millions of Java capable mobiles in the market. For more information on Seven’s offerings, check their product page; they appear to have several different options based on your service need and device.
