Indian Regulators Asks Operators To Lower Premium SMS Costs

From our sister site ContentSutra: the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked mobile operators to “voluntarily” reduce charges on premium SMS…”It is felt that the charges on premium SMS are high and bear no relationship with the cost and nature of services rendered.” Current rates are between Indian Rs.3 and 10, with some as high as Rs.35, which is pretty high (Rs 35 being close to 75 cents).
