(sub. req.) In UK, Vodafone has started offering various trials on mobiel advertising, reports NMA. Unilever, Adidas, Canon and News International are among advertisers signed up to a trial of ad-funded mobile content such as games. In addition to the UK, it has trials running in Spain and Ireland.
The ad-funded content trial, from mobile advertising specialist Amobee, has launched on Vodafone’s mobile portal Vodafone Live…Ads from brands such as Sunsilk, Lynx, Jettix and News of the World are inserted at the start or end of games, or in between levels. Ways for consumers to interact with the ads include clicking through to a WAP site or requesting information by SMS or by making a voice call.
