Mixxer has scored the licensing deal for the upcoming movie “Snakes On a Plane” (which is a movie title so ridiculous it’s either unbelievably stupid or a stroke of genius). The content will include “ringtones, video clips, screensavers and user-generated content — all from and inspired by the movie”. Naturally enough, this is all available from a mini-site dubbed “Snakes on a Phone“.
THQ has announced that its upcoming game Company of Heroes (due for a sept 14 release) will also be ported to mobiles and released sometime in fall 2006.
This isn’t really licensing news either, but GameJump.com has joined the ranks of game publishers offering free, ad-supported games. There has been several announcements of ad-supported mobile game offerings lately, but I liked this particular aspect of GameJump.
