EA Mobile To Develop In Hyderabad, India

EA Mobile (described throughout the article as Jamdat) will start developing games at its Hyderabad office in India.
“So far the Hyderabad centre of Jamdat has been getting international content and deploying it over here. It has also been providing support services for the other global centres in terms of deploying the content for the North American and the UK carriers. We will now start developing local content here,” said Surya Pulagam, managing director, Jamdat Mobile (India).”
Although it’s feasible Jamdat could be eyeing cheaper labor costs for producing its relatively simple puzzle games I think it’s more likely the game publisher is looking to extend its market in India, which promises to be one of the largest mobile markets in the world. Currently, India contributes about 5% to “the company’s global revenues”, and I think it’s refering to EA Mobile rather than EA.
