The MSN Business Development team seeks a seasoned business development executive to strike innovative content partnerships which power the future of entertainment content on the MSN media network.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for structuring and driving content licensing deals with TV producers, networks, and other creators and distributors of video and interactive content. He/she will tap into current relationships with high-level media executives in order to develop partnership opportunities, negotiate/drive contracts to closure and then manage the high-level account relationships. The position will interface directly with Microsoft’s editorial, design, programming, sales, marketing and legal and corporate affairs teams. Candidates must be highly motivated, have a strong entrepreneurial drive and understanding of the entertainment/video industry, as well as deep experience doing online content deals. The candidate also needs strong strategic planning, financial analysis, sales, business development, presentation and communication skills, as well as a documented track record of at least 4-6 years of direct business development experience. MBA, law or entertainment/licensing backgrounds are a major plus. This position requires the ability to develop innovative new business and partnership models, so creativity in business thinking is a must.
This position is located in Los Angeles and requires approximately 1 week of travel per month to MSN headquarters in Redmond, WA. The position reports to MSN’s Director of Entertainment Business Development.
