Russia’s largest mobile operator MTS (Mobile TeleSystems) has begun selling music under its own brand through a service dubbed Zhivoi Zvuk (Live Sound). It sells ringtones, real tones and full tracks…the full tracks go for US$0.99 each or US$2 for three tracks bought simultaneously. These figures exclude tax and data charges, which could explain the 3-for-2 deal, since MTS would make more money in data.
