IPC Media is making a WAP page for its magazine What’s on TV. The top-selling TV magazine hasn’t had a web page before, possibly because it didn’t see a business case. The mobile site will be free but will offer things like ringtones and wallpapers to drum up revenue. It will provide “TV listings, content from shows like ‘Lost’ and ‘The OC’, SMS program reminders and a program search facility”.
IPC is partnering with Filmnight Digital (to design and host the site) and TV Genius (a TV search engine and mobile specialist).
