Imaginova Receives $15 Million in Funding From Gannett, Others

Imaginova, the science media company and parent of Space.com, has received $15 million…the round was led by Steelpoint Capital Partners…I’ve lost count of how many rounds the company has done over the years. Steelpoint was joined in this round by existing investors RedShift Ventures (formerly SpaceVest), Venrock Associates and Gannett.
The company will use the new capital to fund internal development and acquisitions. Imaginova was founded in 1999 as Space.com, and after the boom and bust, in 2004 it changed the name of the company to Imaginova. It now has other brands such as LiveScience.com and SpaceNews.com.
