Dow Jones & Company, the world’s leader in publishing business news and information, is currently seeking a Market Research Manager to join the Corporate Marketing Research & General Promotion Group. This position will be based in our South Brunswick, NJ administrative offices.
As Market Research Manager, you will execute consumer research for Dow Jones products including The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal Online, Barron’s, Dow Jones Newswires and Dow Jones Indexes and provide actionable recommendations to inform business decisions. You will be responsible for conducting and managing all phases of qualitative and quantitative research, as well as analysis of syndicated research. Tasks include research design, developing qualitative and quantitative instruments, survey management and sampling, data analysis, report production and presentation. Types of research include product development, brand tracking, attitudes and usage, customer satisfaction, concept and message testing.
Candidates should possess five to ten years experience in market research including developing questionnaires and writing research reports from survey data; managing all stages of quantitative and qualitative research projects; overseeing suppliers and managing successful completion of field process; analyzing data with statistical software, statistical significance testing and cross-tabulation (multivariate techniques preferred); and conducting online research and programming questionnaires. Experience moderating focus groups and/or in-depth personal interviews and experience with syndicated sources such as MRI and Mendelssohn are considered a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills are essential. Must possess strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) along with being detail-oriented, proactive, team-oriented and flexible. A Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
