Responsibilities:
This role will combine web product management with a strategic product integration role serving AOL Programming’s 30+ content channels, with a focus on Entertainment. The role will support the Programming Products Director – a technology products consulting advocate for all of AOL Programming’s channels – in traversing AOL’s several organizational groups to deliver the highest value from AOL Programming’s content experiences.
The role will involve direct product management responsibility for AOL’s premiere programming channels and grow familiarity with / transition into responsibility in the major Programs supporting our content channels: Search, Search Engine Optimization, Social Networking, Video, and Content Management. Agility, dedication, and persistent positive energy in adaptation of company strategy to tactical guidance will earmark the successful candidate’s strong work ethic. Within months of joining the team, the role will directly influence and enthusiastically guide over 200 matrixed resources toward optimizing their content experiences toward the highest possible company value. This Manager will be looked upon by many as a leader, a storehouse of vital information, and to some extent, a visionary.
Skills:
The candidate should have at least 3-5 years of web product management experience and 5+ years of experience acting in a consulting / communications capacity for interactive agencies or web publishing / new media groups.
Strong background in full technical product management life cycle with significant experience working with a variety of customers to define business needs, convert those needs into requirements that both clearly capture business functions and are detailed enough for technical developers to leverage.
Project Management experience, a plus.
Experience with streaming media, content management, and/or search are strongly preferred.
Thorough familiarity with web publishing the online media competitive landscape are assumed, as are adept usage of office software and executive resources. Fluency in recent “Web 2.0″ trends and key players is desired.
