Tribune Interactive has launched a mobile network with 16 WAP sites including latimes.com, chicagotribune.com, newsday.com, hoyinternet.com, and Chicago entertainment guide Metromix. The WAP sites, powered by Crisp Wireless, include top stories from the print editions, real-time updates, search capability (wasn’t working when I tried), an e-mail-this-story feature, and, of course, plenty of space for banner ads.
One difference from the full-service web sites: so far, stories usually behind a registration wall are accessible without logging in.
— Our sister site MocoNews.net recently took a look at another Tribune mobile initiative, a white label service from Tribune Media Services.
