GigaOM reports the launch of Tibet Online, a web television website that caters largely to the Tibetan diaspora scattered across the globe, particularly the youth. Interestingly, access to it is still possible from within China.
The site broadcasts news related to the initiatives of the Central Tibetan Administration, clips outlining Tibetan issues and policy. The news is in Tibetan, though occasionally a marqee in English on a bright yellow strip scrolls across the bottom of the screen.
It also features archival documentary footage, including those of the Dalai Lama, of religious Events and even a documentary footage of wild life poaching.
The site supports formats for QuickTime, Real Player and Windows Media Player, but only QuickTime worked for me.
