JumpTV, a Canadian webcaster focused mainly on the expatriate markets has added two more channels to its basket of Indian channels – Punjab Today and Balle Balle.
“Now, Punjabis outside of India can enjoy news and music from home on a real-time basis, providing a direct connection to their culture and language.” said Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, President &CEO, JumpTV International.
Punjab Today is a regional 24 hr news channel whose audience, until this, was limited to North India; Balle Balle airs Punjabi and Hindi music videos. They come at a subscription fee of $9.95 a month each. Neither is among the 70 odd channels that I get, here in Delhi. Other channels at JumpTV that target the Indian diaspora include ASC Flix, Jaya TV and SET Asia.
The Press Release calls Balle Balle “India’s most popular music channel”. I should call my cable operator.
