Position Summary:
Responsible for the development and growth of online ad revenue through assigned clients and by working with Sporting News print and radio sales executives (offline sales) to generate new client additions for our products. Also responsible for building the company’s sales reach in the online market.
Essential Job Functions:
-Manage all aspects of assigned accounts in partnership with the Sporting News
-Make certain that all outstanding issues affecting clients are properly coordinated, including technical, support and billing questions
-Participate in cross platform sales pitches to agencies and direct clients
-Maintain relationships with key decision makers, principal business and technical people
-Develop and execute on a comprehensive online ad sales plan
-Manage contract renewals, including notification, proposal, negotiation and acceptance
-Visit/speak with all clients on a regular basis for account reviews
-Complete written monthly updates of client activity: risks and potential
-Thoroughly understands and significantly influences the client’s decision-making process and leads the customers to positive decisions on sales proposals
-Provide comprehensive product demonstrations for all new and existing clients and other company sales executives
-Act as liaison with site management, including feedback on competition, technical trends, and market requirements
-Attend trade shows as requested by management
-Regularly update SN sales team on online trends, issues, and business opportunities
-Maintain expertise in SN products
-Understand and explain new SN Products to existing clients and offline sales executives to maximize opportunities and new client additions
Requirements:
-Strong analytical skills with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to handle multiple priorities, projects and relationships simultaneously in a fast paced environment
-Strong presentation skills and ability to develop dynamic marketing campaigns
-Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the online industry with a strong knowledge of the sports market, preferably in the areas of fantasy sports, football, baseball, and publishing
-Knowledge and experience of the Radio and/or Magazine market a plus
-Must have understanding of methods used to develop, serve and maintain online content (design, information architecture, web development, networking and database technologies)
-Demonstrates ability to cultivate and grow relationships within the media community
-4-year College Degree required
Salary: Commensurate with experience
