Secret Apple device revealed

Matt Miller posted his thoughts on Scoble’s hinting of a new Apple product announcement at the World Wide Developer Conference next week and commenter j. m. galvin has nailed it on the head:

My spies inside Apple have already given me the lowdown. It’s an Instant Word Processor.

Now, instead of typing your document, saving it, opening up the print window, clicking a bunch of settings and then printing (after the things spools), your words will magically appear on paper AS YOU TYPE them.

Better, it’s portable and DOES NOT need any electricity.

Apple’s been working on this magical device for 8 years. During that time it’s gone through many different code names. First it was SMITH. Then CORONA. Lately the code name has been UNDERWOOD.

I’ll bet it will come in white and cost $500, too.
