Qwest Resells Sprints Music Store

Qwest Communications — an MVNO using Sprint’s CDMA network — is apparently reselling Sprint’s music offering. “The mobile virtual network operator is carrying the Sprint Music Store, which allows users to download songs to a mobile phone or PC for $2.50 per track. Indeed, it appears Qwest is selling the offering as the “Sprint Music Store”, rather than rebranding it as a Qwest product.” Does that make it a mobile virtual content seller?
As far as I can tell Qwest offers its mobile service as a complement to its other telecommunications offerings, so it’s not promoting the service through unique content. As such, it makes sense to reuse someone else’s high-end content offerings rather than put the effort in to create its own. I don’t expect to see the Disney or ESPN MVNOs (also on the Sprint Network) follow suit.
