Swiss Firm BTS Sets Up $80 Million Indian Fund

Siwtzerland-based venture capital and PE firm BTS Investment Advisors has launched the BTS India Pvt. Equity Fund, a private equity fund with a base of $80 million. The Mauritius-based offshore fund will look to invest in small- to medium-sized companies across all sectors in India “which are either export-driven or addressing the booming domestic markets,” said Alastair Guggenbuhl-Even, managing partner at BTS Investment Advisors.
The fund would like to pick up minority stakes in companies, investing between $1 million to $5 million per company over a holding period of three to five years. It will invest in “any industry which we believe is competitive, be it in pharma, life sciences, biotechnology, engineering, textiles, IT and IT enabled services, telecom, entertainment,” he said.
