Matrix Launches $150 Million Indian Fund; Focus On Consumer; Avnish Bajaj Heading It

Avnish Bajaj, former co-founder of Baazee.com, and Rishi Navani, former partner of WestBridge Capital Partners (now merged with Sequoia Capital) have joined the US-based Matrix Partners to launch an India fund. The duo has raised $150 million for their first India fund. The money will be invested “across the consumer services sector, including internet, mobile value-added services (MVAS), financial services, media/entertainment companies, and travel/leisure.”
