Titan, Innoviti To Launch Watches That Can Stream News And Content

The Economic Times: Now you can provide news and other content to watch companies too. Titan Industries, a leading Indian watch-maker, and Innoviti Solutions, an embedded solutions provider, have joined hands to develop watches that can also provide real-time news, cricket scores, stock market updates, weather and traffic reports as scrolling messages. The commercial launch of the watches are expected by Diwali. They may be priced under Rs 7,000 ($150). This smart watch project has been christened as ‘Sanketh’, and has already spent close to $1 million in R&D over the last two years. [Titan has also picked up 5 per cent stake in Innoviti Solutions]
Internationally, Fossil and Microsoft have developed a watch capable of one-way wireless communication called Fossil Abacus. This watch is priced at about $180.
