The Hindu Business Line: The Kleiner-funded PayMate India is planning to roll out their mobile payment tool with some leading hotels in Indian metros. The service is expected to be launched in the next one month or so. “We will begin with high-profile restaurants and hip and trendy joints where the customer base is more inclined to take up paying using mobiles,” Ajay Adiseshann, CEO, PayMate told Business Line.
The company will target coffee bars next. It’s a nice idea. You may forget to take your wallet sometimes, but a mobile phone is likely to be there always with you. But be careful, if there is a network jam, you may end up washing plates then :-)
