Motorola Partners With Shanda To Launch Online Games On Cell Phones

Motorola has launched its first online-game-playing mobile phone. It has been launched in China as it’s one of the “world’s top game markets”. The model E680G, which is a modified version of an existing gaming handset, is adapted to play online titles from Shanda Interactive, the big Chinese online gaming company. Eighty-three percent of China mobile phone users play games on their mobile phones, so launching it in China is a logical first step for Motorola. China is the world’s largest cellphone market with some 400 million subscribers. Motorola’s agreement with Shanda covers the latter’s World of Legend and Magical Land online role-playing adventure games. Software for the games can be downloaded from Motogames.com.cn.
