This position at Verizon Wireless interfaces with new and existing content providers to identify and drive video consumption across all channels. Focuses on generating demand for our MediaFLO and developing cross-promotion plans with content providers. The manager will lead our business development and programming efforts. This person will be our day-to-day contact with Qualcomm and Content Providers and oversee all aspects of our “Basic” content operations once launched.
— Determine content programming with media companies and/or ISPs to deliver against programming strategy.
— Analyze market research, usage reports and data to determine programs, projects and initiatives.
— Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of overall mobile video (mobile messaging for ISP role) industry.
— Manage all ongoing relationships with key entertainment oriented content and application partners, including service creation, enhancement, developments and upgrades.
— Manage by influence various departments in the evaluation of strategic new business partners.
— BA/BS, MBA preferred
— 5-7 years in media or entertainment industries managing external executive relationships
— 5-7 years managing events, production teams, and coordinating large-scale promotions.
— 4+ years in programming role in media industry, ideally in film or television.
— 5+ years of wireless and/or ISP industry experience.
— Other: Extensive experience coordinating large-scale initiatives among multiple stakeholder organizations; strong negotiating and relationship building experience.
