Shoot documents with your camera and scan them to PDF using ClickToScan

Clicktoscan_1You’re out in the field and realize you need to have a usable copy of a document that’s been presented in a meeting.  No worries with clicktoscan, a new service that is in beta.  Just shoot the document with your camera phone and clicktoscan will scan it so you can copy, fax or email it to others.  The service uses proprietary software to process the image to optimize it for producing legible copies in PDF format.  The service will fax or email it for you once the scanning has been performed, turning your camera phone into a productivity center.  The clicktoscan web site mentions it is perfect for capturing whiteboard information to get it into a form that can be used by the attendees who need access to the information that was produced during the meeting.  Scanned documents are stored on the clicktoscan servers, and the service is free to try during the beta period.  Me, I’ll continue to use OneNote Mobile for taking my photos of documents and importing them into OneNote 2007 where they are OCRed for searching.
