New PocketInformant and FlexMail betas

WebIS has put out public betas of the next version of two of their most popular programs for the Pocket PC.  PocketInformant 2007 is the next generation of the all-powerful PIM application for Windows Mobile devices.  FlexMail 2007 is the new and improved version of the email application that handles multiple accounts in one pass.  Both programs are beta so you may run into some bugs but according to the developer they are very close to release.

New Features in Pocket Informant 2007:

Pi_2007• WebIS and Franklin Covey have teamed together to provide a full syncing solution with the upcoming Plan Plus for Outlook
The new features that this sync solution (provided in the box with PPO4.0) include PPO Projects, Percentage Complete, PPO Status, ABCD/0-99 priorities, task regeneration and Daily Notes. PPO is not required for the features to work within PI.

• Ability to set and see visually the percentage completed of a task
• Ability to set and see visually the In progress, Delegate status

• Overhauled settings application
• Redesigned Journal with rich text support

• Redesigned Summary screens for easier one handed use (especially Contacts)
• Visual Macro Editor
• Reworked interface for streamlined use, simpler access to features
• Fully soft key enabled and one-hand use designed
• Even with all this, PI actually uses about the same amount of memory and disk space as PI 2005 did

New Features in FlexMail 2007

• Now uses the same database engine as the built in Inbox app for greatly increased speed in all aspects of operation
• Mail Rules – you can now set rules on incoming POP3/IMAP emails or execute preset rules for ActiveSync accounts manually
• Support for Flags, Answered/Replied status on email
• Folder Searching lets you find any email within your folder structure
• Contacts Lookahead added to message editor
• LEMONADE IMAP extensions support
• IMAP IDLE support
• Meeting Request processing (IMAP/POP3 for now)
• Much expanded per folder download settings
• Ability to refresh list of IMAP folders without synchronization
• Font settings
• Improved SMS integration
• Refined user interface
