(via LR) This is to be expected…TV studio Warner Bros. Television, the creator of about 26 TV shows inthe upcoming season, is having trouble getting digital media rights clearances for the TV networks its shows run on. The prime example in this story: “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”, the new show to debut on NBC this fall…”NBC wants ‘Studio 60′ on digital platforms to be NBC-branded because viewers think of ‘Studio 60′ as an NBC show and will look for it on an NBC-branded platform, not a Warner Bros. platform,” said Mark Graboff, NBC Universal Television’s West Coast president.
So far, at least four of the networks have resisted Warner Bros.’ proposals, the story says. If the two sides don’t hammer out an agreement, the studio’s new shows may not be available for sale on the Web, though online and mobile promos will still go ahead.
