Raju Narisetti, the editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe who is now heading back to India to head HT’s new business paper, spoke at the recently concluded SAJA annual event in NYC. The SAJA blog did an interview with him about his decision to move back to India, and this line resonated with me: “It is a challenge of covering growth versus covering stability/stagnation. As a result, the stories are richer in some ways but also easier to do in many ways. The key is to cover Indian business smartly rather than have a herd mentality–looking for the hole in the doughnut if you will, rather than looking at the entire doughnut. And connecting Indian business to global trends and viceversa.”
