Microsofts Mobile IM Disconnect

The Register is commenting on a study by Microsoft showing that the majority of people use instant messaging at work, on consumer platforms that are not suited to the workplace environment — intended to push Microsoft’s Corporate IM tools, of course. El Reg notes that the report fails to mention the IM client on Windows Mobile devices, and concludes that’s because it is as insecure as the rest and (assumedly) the Corporate IM doesn’t work on mobiles. Excluding mobile devices from the system is pretty short-sighted. (Of course, if MS’s Corporate IM works on Windows Mobile then this comment is entirely misplaced.)
