Job Post: Journalist/Reporter For ContentSutra

We’re expanding our editorial activities on ContentSutra, the site covering the business of digital (online and mobile) media market. The site forms part of ContentNext Media, a rapidly growing news and information media company based in Santa Monica, CA in U.S., covering the business of digital media and content.
Our three sites paidContent.org, MocoNews.net and ContentSutra.com cover the transformation of media, entertainment and information industries worldwide. Within a year of launching, ContentSutra has become the premier digital media site and blog in India, with readership spread across the country, and U.S., Europe and other parts of Asia.
As part of the expansion plan, we’re expanding our remit to do more original stories, along with our usual brand of news blogging. For this, we need to hire another journalist/reporter.
The work:
Our brand of journalism is one-third original reporting, one-third intelligent linking/aggregation, and one-third analysis, all quick, short, smart and sharp.
Besides writing for ContentSutra, you may also be contributing to the two other sites, writing not just about Indian market but other Asian markets as well. Some part of the work is also compiling newsletters and sending them out through our tools. The reporter will be working from home, so needs a computer/broadband connection, of course. It will also include interacting/co-ordinating with our senior journalist in Delhi.
Experience/Requirements:
— Location: you should preferably be in Delhi, though other metros will also be considered
— 2-5 years of business news reporting experience, preferably online.
— Someone who has written about media, Internet, mobile and technology, and has clips/blogs posts etc to demonstrate it
— Someone comfortable with the fast pace of our site
— Flexible on working time zones…some part of the work will require interacting with editors in U.S.
— General knowledge of world media and internet trends, especially U.S.
— Basic working knowledge of HTML is required as well. Some experience with recording/uploading digital audio etc is also helpful.
— If you have been a regular reader of ContentSutra, all the better.
— Be ready to travel within major metros in India, to attend industry-related conferences
Compensation: This is a contract full time position, though we can consider part time as well. Salary will depend on experience, and will be competitive.
