Uber-Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) watcher Mary Jo Foley reports that Microsoft may get the jump on Google (NSDQ: GOOG) when it comes to a net-based healthcare service. Google co-founder Sergey Brin said during yesterday’s earnings call that the company doesn’t yet have a specific plan “but we’re exploring a number of areas where we feel our technology could benefit people.” But Peter Neupert, Microsoft corporate VP of Health Solutions, is set to discuss “some exciting new developments” in the field in Washington D.C. next week. Foley’s sources say the Microsoft group has been working on Windows Live offerings for consumers and businesses.
