I recently wondered out loud on jkOnTheRun why the ThinkOutside Bluetooth keyboard I saw at CES had never come to market and a sharp reader pointed me to the probable reason. VictorE pointed us to a press release that announced the acquisition of ThinkOutside by Mobility Electronics at the end of May. Mobility Electronics are the folks that make the iGo line of universal power adapters and the merger seems to be a good fit but I am surprised the acquisition was so low key. I never heard a word about it and Googling around for the press release shows that very few web sites mentioned it. The ThinkOutside web site is still independently selling the Stowaway line of ThinkOutside products so it appears it is business as usual since the acquisition but we know that can (and probably will) change. The iGo line of chargers are excellent products and are currently sold in Radio Shack stores in the US and it was recently announced that Best Buy was running a trial to possible sell the chargers in all their stores. So Mobility Electronics– how about releasing that fine Bluetooth keyboard now? I’ll be happy to test it for you if that’s what is holding up the release.
