ITV has announced plans to run commercials with the mobile video clips from the reality show Love Island which ahve been filmed exclusively as mobile content (so it’s in addition to the TV broadcast). “Available free to users of Love Island’s broadband and mobile service, the video service will contain ads from brands including T-Mobile, Aquafresh, EA Games, Muller, Mercury Records and Direct Line.”
As well as giving advertisers a chance “to experiment in the new broadcast space ITV’s biggest summer property” it allows ITV to sell more advertising — the TV segment is sponsored by Bounty.
