UFO Moviez Claims KRRISH Is A Huge Digital Hit

The latest bollywood flick KRRISH seems to have struck it big not just via traditional cinema exhibition but also through digital screening. According to a statement from UFO Moviez, the digital partner of Flimkraft Productions, the producers of the movie, KRISSH went out on 87 UFO screens in the first week and 90 UFO screens in week two. These UFO screens accounted for 15 per cent of the total number of screens the movie was released. A record number of 790 prints, 250 of them in overseas screens alone, were released around the world. The Hrithik Roshan-starrer, claims the release, has collected more than Rs 70 crore in week one. The KRRISH release has given a big leg up for UFO Moviez, the digital cinema network owned by Valuable Media, part of the Delhi-based industrial group Apollo International
It plans to set up 500 digital movie halls by August 2006 at an investment of Rs 80 crore, and scale it up progressively to 2000 cinema halls across the country at a total investment of Rs 300 crore.
